The Pickens Plan
Normally, I use my blog to post one of three different topics: interesting web/technology news, things that make me laugh and photos of my family. Today, I’ve decided to post about something which I think is very important to the future of the United States.
I’ll start off by saying I was very skeptical at first. T. Boone Pickens has made a lot of money in the oil industry and is now proposing a national energy plan. The phrase “Big Oil” immediately flashed through my mind and I was a bit suspicious. I looked him up on YouTube and found his video where he describes his overall plan in about four minutes. I have to say it makes sense to me and seems like something that can realistically be accomplished in 10 years. My interest in this plan and my confidence that it could be implemented increased after watching a recent interview with him.
There has been a lot of talk during the election campaign about US energy policy and how it affects our relationship with other countries. The Pickens Plan is definately worth looking into and exploring. Please check out his four minute whiteboard presentation either on YouTube or on his own websites, PickensPlan.com.
